How To prevent diabetes  from affecting  eyesight

Today I would like to inform you about how to prevent diabetes from affecting eyesight.  Diabetes  is a metabolic disease that causes high blood sugar.  In this condition  our body doesn’t  produce insulin. It can lead to swelling  in the macula. It can destroy  the sharp vision in this part of the eye. It may cause partial vision loss.

It usually  develops in people who already have diabetic  retinopathy. When you have diabetes, you should plan to make regular  eye doctor visits and check the vision. Diabetes damages blood vessels all over the body. Damage to your eyes starts when sugar blocks the blood vessels .

Most frequent complications  of diabetes are eye problems like cataract, glaucoma, retinopathy, and macular edema. It may cause blindness.  Glaucoma occurs when the optic nerve is damaged ,due to high pressure  inside the eye. It may cause vision loss.

The main symptoms are the presence of floaters, blurry vision, difficulty  seeing at night, darkened spots in vision, loss of side vision, partial blindness.

We can prevent diabetes  related eye problems.  We should  manage blood sugar levels.diabetes related eye problems are two types. Proliferative and nonproliferative stages. In the non proliferative  stage ,we can control to do not go to stage 2.

We can check our eyesight through an ophthalmoscope. In stage 1, we should control sugar level,do exercise so we can prevent further complications.  In stage 2 ,laser is the only treatment .
