Norka root is to ensure NRK welfare and to help as a single kiosk for all information pertaining to them. Norka is a department of the government of Kerala formed on 6 December 1996 to redress the grievances of non resident keralites.
It is to ensure NRK welfare and to serve as financial support to Pravasi. Norka issues identity cards to all NRK’s.This brings many benefits to the Pravasi from government and also get the insurance coverage. Pravasi ID card is the single stop for a non-resident keralite to connect with the Government of Kerala. It avail all services and facilities offered by norka roots now and future. It comes with an add on of personal accidental insurance coverage up to Maximum 2 lakhs. you can easily apply for Pravasi ID card through norka roots website.

Eligibility
- completed 18 years of age.
- Pravasi residing /working abroad with valid Passport and Visa.
Documents
- Copies of passport front and back pages.
- Copy of visa /Ikamma/ residence permit
- Photo and signature of applicant
- Registration fee Rs 315.

How to apply online
- Visit the website www.norkaroots.org
- Select the language.
- Select Pravasi ID card.
- Click on the registration section of the new registration to submit your first application.
- Fill the register form.
- Enter the abroad mobile number.
- Click submit button.
- We get an OTP number.
- Enter the OTP number.
- Open a new page, enter the username and password, sign in to the website.
- Click on Pravasi ID card on the left side.
- Click on the apply button.
- Verify the information given is correct.
- Enter the address in Kerala.
- Enter the work place details.
- Enter the address abroad.
- Enter the family details.
- Enter the nominee details.
- Enter passport details.
- Enter visa details.
- Upload the passport, visa, photo images.
- Click on make payment button
- Click the continue to payment button.
- Open the payment page.
- We make payment using debit card.
- Select the debit card, enter card number, CVV number, expiry date.
- Click the make payment button.
- we get a OTP number from Bank, enter the OTP number.
- Click the view application.
- We can see the application status submitted and payment status paid.
- We will also receive a message and a mail that we have paid the payment.
- The email will come from norka that Id card is ready within days of application.
- Once you get the message, visit the norka website.
- Click the apply now button.
- Enter username and password.
- We can see changed the application status ID printed.
- Click the download ID card button.
- We can see the norka ID card.
- ID card will be ready in 2 days.
- The ID card will arrive in our home within two or three months.
