Home remedies for worm infection in children

               Worm infections are most common in paediatric infection. These infection have  chronic and disabling consequences for child’s growth and development. The infection can spread from person to person via infected feces. These worms  are living inside the small intestine for up to 2 years. They produce very quickly. Female roundworms may lay more than 2 lakh eggs everyday.

 Causes

  • Poor disposal of human faces 
  • Put their contaminated fingers in their mouth 
  • From person to person
  • Lack of personal hygiene.

Symptoms

  • Worms in bowel movement
  • Vomiting 
  • Stomach pain 
  • Worms coming out of the nose or mouth.
  • Coughing
  • Loss of appetite
  • Fever
  • Wheezing
  • Restless
  • Itchiness
  • Visible worms 
  • Failure to grow
  • Tender,  bloated, hard belly with vomiting.

Home remedies

  • Mix  one tablespoon of raw papaya juice and honey.Add 3 teaspoon of hot water. Give child this to drink every morning on empty stomach. After 2 hours mix one tablespoon of castor oil and half glass of milk and give your child to drink. 
  • make your child eat 3 cloves of Garlic everyday morning.
  • Add 2 teaspoon of papaya seed powder to a cup of warm milk and give your child to drink an empty stomach. 
  • Let your child eat one tablespoon of grated coconut each day with breakfast
  •  Let your child eat 1 tablespoon of jaggery on an empty stomach. After 20 minutes give him  a tablespoon of ajwain with a glass of water.

Prevention

  • Be aware of risk where soil may be contaminated by feces. 
  • Wash and peel / cook  thoroughly fruits vegetables before eating. 
  • Wash your hands with soap and water 
  • Treat your child and everyone is your family with worming tablets. 
  • Good personal hygiene 
  • Household cleaning
  • Cut finger nails regularly 
  • To encourage child not to scratch around his bottom/ suck his thumb.
  • Regularly wash clothes and bed linen in hot Soapy water.
  • Clean toilet seats.
