Abu Dhabi National Oil Company: Some Background Information.

It was in 1937 when the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan led a trip to the south-west of Abu Dhabi with a group of 16 tribesmen. This mission laid the groundwork for what would become ADNOC. Soon after the geological study that was carried out in 1935, he began to fantasies about properly harnessing petroleum resources, which would directly catalyze the expansion of the UAE’s economy.

This dream was realised in the 1960s. Even Even though the first concession was signed in 1939, it wasn’t until 1958 that oil was finally found in the United Arab Emirates at the Murban Bab Oil field. The search for oil had taken several decades at that point. Around the year 1960, the average daily production of oil was 3,674 barrels. In 1963, Abu Dhabi saw its first shipment of crude oil leave the city in the form of a tanker. 

Later, the discovery of more oil reserves and an increase in revenue led to the establishment of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in 1971. That same year also saw the establishment of the Arab Emirates. 1973 marked the beginning of both ADNOC distribution and ADNOC LNG operations.

Since the day it was founded, the company has been making significant contributions that are beneficial to the expansion and development of the UAE as a nation up until the present day. They have a reputation for working ethically and responsibly with both their shareholders and their clients. Their goal is to generate the most possible energy with the fewest possible emissions.
