About Hyatt
When Jay Pritzker bought the Hyatt House motel in 1957, it was just next to LAX. This was the beginning of what would become Hyatt. Jay Pritzker and his brother Donald Pritzker, with the help of other business interests belonging to the Pritzker family, expanded the company over the next decade and became a North American management and hotel owning enterprise that went public in 1962.

In 2006, the first Hyatt Place hotel opened in the Chicago suburb of Lombard. Similarly, Hyatt buys Summerfield Suites to enter the long-term-stay industry.
In 2007, the fashionable Andaz label made its first appearance on London’s Liverpool Street.
The Hyatt hotel chain went public on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) with the symbol “H” in 2009.
Hyatt Thrive, the company’s worldwide CSR initiative, was introduced that same year.The former Hyatt Summerfield Suites changed its name to Hyatt House in 2012.
2013 saw the introduction of Hyatt’s Ziva and Zilara all-inclusive resort brands in Mexico, marking the company’s entry into a lucrative new market. The newly formed World of Hyatt Credit Card, which features a fitness category for Bonus Points, is now available to cardholders.

2019
Hyatt has announced the launch of two new hotel brands: the lifestyle brand Caption by Hyatt, which aims to foster meaningful connections between guests, and the joint venture brand UrCove with BTG Homeinns Hotels Group, which aims to serve the increasing upper-middle class market of frequent business travellers in China.
New partnerships with American Airlines and Lindblad Expeditions, as well as a reimagined mobile app, are just a few examples of how World of Hyatt is always improving and expanding.
On January 15, 2020, Hyatt and Headspace, a pioneer in the field of mindfulness and meditation, announced a new worldwide wellness partnership. Meditation and other sleep-inducing practises are available to members via the World of Hyatt app and in-room at certain Hyatt properties.
On November 2, 2021, Hyatt announced that it has acquired Apple Leisure Group (ALG), a premier provider of premium resort-management services, travelling, and hospitality that operates more than a hundred hotels and resorts under the AMRTM Collection in ten different countries.
