According to motor vehicle act, it is mandatory for an individual to possess a driving licence. It is also implies in the Indian state of Kerala, does not permit an individual to drive without licence.
The RTO of Kerala is entrusted with the responsibility of issuing a driving licence to citizens. They also provide issuance of driving licence, renewal by 17 regional and 42 sub Regional Transport offices.

How to renew driving licence in Kerala
- In Kerala, driving licence valid for 20 years until age of 50, renewal with in a grace period of 30 days from date of expiry. Apply driving licence, after Grace period should pay Rs 300.

Procedure
- Download form online through Keralamvd.gov.in/ index /php/ forms/driving licence 2
- Click apply online
- Select office name
- Enter licence number, date of birth.
- Click on go
- Reprint online application
- Visit RTO with printer copies and original documents.
- Submit the printed copy, original to the RTO
- On verification the applicant receive driving licence of few days.
