In India the majority of women suffer from nutritional imbalance. They are under-nourished and anaemic. They inevitably give birth to low birth weight babies. Nutritional imbalance affects the life cycle since the chan ges are largely irreversible. Economic and social distress may lead to the women to work to earn a living for their family up to the last days of their pregnancy. And they resumed working soon after child birth.
Pradha mandhri matru vandhan yojana is a Maternity Benefit program. It implemented all districts of the country. This scheme provides cash intensive to the women partial compensation for wage loss . So the women can take adequate rest before and after delivery of their first child.
All pregnant women and lactating mothers will get this benefit. PW and LM women are excluded from this scheme. Eligible pregnant women and lactating mothers who have their pregnancy on or after 2017.The stage of pregnancy would be counted with her LMP date. They are eligible to receive this benefit under the scheme only once. In case of miscarriage, they would be eligible to claim Remaining installment for future pregnancy.
After receiving first installment, if she has a miscarriage, she would be eligible for second and third installment vin future pregnancy. If the beneficiary has a miscarriage after receiving second and third installments,she would eligible for receiving third installment in future pregnancy.
In case of infant mortality, if she has already received all installments,she will not be eligible for claiming benefits.
They will get Rs 5000 on three installments. They will get the first installment of Rs 1000 on early registration of pregnancy at anganwadi. Second installment Rs 2000 after 6 months of pregnancy on receiving one antenatal check up. Third installment Rs 2000 get after child birth is registered. They would receive incentives under janani suraksha yojana for institutional delivery.
The eligible woman should register under the scheme at anganwadi center. They should submit application form 1A, relevant documents, consent,adhar details of her and her husband, written consent ,mobile number, marriage certificate, copy of MCP card,proof of identity, and bank account details.
For claiming second installment, they should submit form 1B after 6 months of pregnancy. They should submit an MCP card.For claiming third installment, they should submit form 1C along with a copy of child birth registration, copy of MCP card,first cycle of immunization.
This scheme encourages improved health seeking behavior for pregnant women and lactating mothers.It is a central government scheme. We can apply for this scheme. You should submit applications before the third month of pregnancy.you can submit applications to the nearest anganwadi center.
