Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana scheme was launched by the central government at January 2015, which helps us get money for our girls marriages and education. Since its Inception, more than 1.8 lakh accounts have been opened and no tax on it. The aim of the plan is mitigating the situation by reducing family saving from 38 % to 30% and at equipping parents for future needs of girl’s education and marriage. In this scheme for girls upto the age of 10 has been implemented in all post offices including provision of samriddhi accounts.
Features
- Rs 250 should be credited to the account each year instead of Rs 1000. The maximum deposit in each year Rs 1.50 lakh up to 14 yrs from date of opening.
- On completion of 21 years investment and interest will be refunded.

- when the girl is 18 years old, she can withdraw upto 50% of investment till the last financial year for her higher education.
- This account can be closed during the marriage of girl.
- If the minimum amount of Rs 1000 is not deposit in any year, a penalty Rs 50 will be charged.
Eligibility
- Only parents of the girl child can open an account in the name of the girl.
- The single girl child can’t have multiple account.
- The girl child should be less than 10 years.
- The initial investment you can start from Rs 250 maximum Rs 150000 annually.

How to open account
- An account open in any of the authorised bank or post office across the country.
- Account opened by parents or legal Guardian
- Submit the birth certificate of the child
- parents are allowed to open account under the scheme.
- Account is opened with an initial balance of Rs 1000
- Depositor must deposit a minimum of rupees 250
- Deposit in account can be made through cash or cheque
